Rimini - Marina Centro | Difficulty: Medio, Distance: 58 Km, Altitude: 741m
A descent from the summit of Monte Titano to the foreshore of Rimini’s beaches, along a really fun bike course across the Ventoso, (the mountain scale included in several editions of the Coppa Placci and stages of the Giro d’Italia), Verucchio and the “Coste di Sgrigna” (a fun stretch of gastronomic “mangi e bevi” with slight slopes and manageable sprints leading to the foot of Covignano Hill, the hillock located behind the town of Rimini where the ancient Roman baths of Galvanina stand) until you reach the channel-Port of Rimini, built in the Roman era on the original source of the Marecchia River.
On the left of the port, fishery-related businesses have their premises (shipyards, mechanical workshops and wholesale fish market), whereas on the right stands the lighthouse, a maritime symbol. A “stroll” along the stone pier, known locally as “la palata”, is a must, where you can stop to admire the surrounding seascape.
