San Leo is the most popular tourist destination in Valmarecchia. The panorama is one of the most beautiful and characteristic where the view sweeps from the mountains to the sea.
San Leo is located on a huge rocky boulder all around impassable ; it is accessed by a single road cut into the rock. On the highest point of the spur rises the impregnable Fort of San Leo .
It hosted many historical figures such as Dante , St. Francis of Assisi and the Count of Cagliostro where his cell is still visited today.
The entire village is of considerable charm as well as the preserved architectural heritage; an example of this is the pre -Romanesque church, the Lombard Romanesque cathedral of the century. Xll, the Fort and many other structures scattered throughout the area.
Entrance to the fortress for a fee. Open all year round at the following times:
Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 18:00
Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 to 19:00
Transfer Service A / R minimum 5 pax € 7.00 per person
NB: The Transfer service must be booked at least 1 day in advance. The service may not be active in conjunction with holidays.
At the Management's discretion, it may be suspended to prioritize other events or needs.
